IMPERFECT UTOPIA

Toru Morimoto and Tina Bagué have carried out a photo project from 2014 to 2019 to document the Japanese remote islands. For six years, they have visited more than 60 remote islands. While keeping their documentary style without any setup photos, their contemporary and artistic photographies showcase the people and life of remote islands in Japan as they are. The photo book, IMPERFECT UTOPIA, their second co-authored book was published in 2022.
